On Sunday, three Police Officers were confirmed dead after they were involved in a fatal motor accident along the Kubwa-Zuba expressway.
According to reports, the patrol van in which they were travelling experienced a burst tyre and crashed into drainage opposite the Gwarimpa Estate section of the road.
It was also revealed that the police officers heading to Kaduna for s special assignment before the accident occurred.
Recounting how it all happened, an eyewitness revealed that the accident was caused by the speed of the vehicle.
“I was about crossing the road to the other lane when the Police Patrol van on top speed, suddenly lost control and crashed into the drainage divide, leaving three policemen dead.” The witness said.
Others people sustained various degrees of injuries.
Meanwhile, Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the FCT Emergency Management Agency were later seen evacuating the bodies to an undisclosed hospital.
Confirming the report, FCT Police Public Relation’s Officer, DSP Josephine revealed that it was a sad development.
She also stated that she did not have details of the number of casualties involved in the accident.
