Two neighbouring communities, Anaku and Omor in Ayamelum local government area of Anambra state have engaged in war, killing each other and burning down their homes.
An eye witness, Mr. Emma Nweke, told Emerald News that the cause of the ripples was a disagreement between the two communities over a land they share together.
According to him, the two sister communities share a large portion of land they both use in processing and producing cements in their areas.
Emerald News gathered that the war sprung up when Omor community indigenes embarked on using the whole landed property for rice farming while leaving the Anaku community with none.
This meduim gathered that when the intimidated people of Anaku queried the action of Omor community, fight erupted between the two neighbouring communities.
Our source said that Omor people at the early hours of Sunday were seen burning down the houses in Anaku town which also instigated the youths of Anaku to embark on retaliation journey to Omor.
Our source said that Omor people have been intimidating Anaku community and other of their neighbours because of their large number.
According to the source, Omor people have been engaging in fight with all their neighbours over land dispute as a result of their large number.
Our source who is an indigene of Anaku said that the situation would have been managed properly and timely had it been that their traditional ruler, Igwe Oforkansi Obalim (Okaa Omee) of Anaku still was alive.
Emerald News gathered that the Igwe Okaa Omee of Anaku town who died few months ago is yet to be buried.
As at the time of filing this report, the government of Anambra State has deployed a group of soldiers to the two towns to stop the destruction of lives and property.
