The Mayor of Urhoboland, and an ex-militant leader of note, His Excellency Eshanakpe Israel, a.k.a Akpodoro has called on northern youths who filed out in their large numbers against the Nigerian government in a national protest code named #Endbadgovernment10 days of rage penultimate week to hold their leaders including head of the immediate past administration, General Muhammadu Buhari, who reportedly sold in advance, Nigeria’s crude oil for two years, collected the proceeds into the “pockets of looters” mostly from his region.

The mayor’s call was made in Ughelli, the headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, South-South Nigeria, Thursday. He said refusal to question General Buhari over numerous untoward actions of his administration would amount to injustice against the Nigerian people adding that, to continue pretending that all is well with the country while taking blame for the criminalities of the past administration that deliberately underdeveloped the Nigerian Youths particularly the northern youths whose future was intentionally mortgaged on the platter of massive corruption and greed for leadership position whereas they lack the requisite knowledge to hold positions of developmental leadership is the most uncharitable thing to do.

Apparently, the Mayor who was reacting to a statement credited to the Minister of Finance, Olawale Edun to wit, the former President Buhari sold the nation’s crude oil upfront for two years, collected the proceeds prompting the current administration to sell crude without collecting its value for money.

His Excellency noted that there was no other way a nation could be recklessly impoverished outside what General Buhari’s administration did to the national economy describing the action as callous, reckless and wicked against a people “who rehabilitated him from political obscurity and thrusted him to limelight having been consigned into the can of history after leaving office as military head of state through the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangid military coup in 1983. It is on record that even as a military government, he regime was the worst in that era.”

According to the vociferous modern ruler of Urhoboland, General Buhari should be questioned, arrested and jailed for his wickedness against Nigeria particularly his deliberate act of destroying the youths of his region by neglecting them and mortgaged their future to the northern political elites who the Mayor holds in contempt for looting everything in sight while the Daura, Katsina State-born General turned politician played the Saint deceptively.

The Mayor who is also the National President of the National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, NCNDE-A said, not arresting General Buhari to answer for his stewardship while he held sway as the head of government would amount not to only injustice but insult on “Our national psyche and collective sensibilities as a nation of people under God and it shall stand against his region for a long time to come. Such recklessness as perpetrated by Buhari in office has never been seen in the annals of our country that, in every facet of the economy, that government pooh-poohed commonsense.

“Under Buhari’s administration, we had the greatest scam where the then Minister branded an Ethiopian plane in Air Nigera colour and presented same as being the Air Nigeria that huge sums of money was voted for including awarding dubious contracts to himself and his immediate family members.

“General Buhari for eight years funded corruption and corrupt tendencies. Every segment of his administration was insanely corrupt while our retired General flaunted the gab of sainthood. He should be arrested for questioning because this current administration is shielding the worse Nigerian President ever from prosecution.

“He sold the crude oil from the Niger Delta region upfront while solid minerals from his region were shielded from adding value to the national economy leaving it in the hands of his hegemonic northern born to rules to exploit for their individual advantage as the youths of that region languish in perpetual despondency. General Buhari must be questioned at least to put the records straight for his people to know the magnitude of evil perpetrated against them by their saint Buhari.” The livid Mayor Akpodoro stated adding that the recent attacks on the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was an eye opener to most Nigerians that the administration is covering the past evils.

He warned the “seditious and badly ignorant northern youths to always remember that they are not more than Nigerians than the others and should learn to accordingly situate their anger when next they wish to demonstrate their poor leadership-induced socio-political backwardness.

‘The south is the live wire of Nigeria, and the current northern youth population who are mostly almajiris should hold their leaders by the jugular and steer clear the current operators of our political system. President Tinubu didn’t cause your woes, but Buhari and his likes from your region dept you in the gallow of generational poverty.” The Mayor maintained.
