Tragedy struck on Saturday, February 18 as at least 7 Madonna University students died In an accident on their way to Taraba State.
It was gathered that about eight students of Madonna University, Elele, Rivers State, including Grace Usman and Victor, died on the spot of the accident.

As maintained by Instablog9ja, the unfortunate incident happened when the students were headed for Taraba State after being told to go home in anticipation of the 2023 General Elections.
A source reports that the accident happened at exactly TTC/Special Science School junction along the trans-Saharan road, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
The bus caught fire and was burnt beyond recognition. However, only 10 students survived and were rushed to Alex Ekwueme Teaching Hospital in Ebonyi State.
