Pastor Paul Enenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis Gospel International Centre, weekend told Christians to always give thanks to God as it is important to reciprocate God’s goodness to humanity.
Pastor Enenche spoke on Saturday during the thanksgiving day organised by Delta state government to commemorate the 6th anniversary of the swearing of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as governor of Delta state.
Enenche, who spoke at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, said one of the scarciest virtues on earth is offering thanksgiving to God for all the mercies and goodness of God to humanity.
He said there are people who forget to appreciate the help of God and fellow man to them. He said it is very easy for mortal man to forget, saying human beings have short memory span in terms of thanksgiving.
He said some people do not give thanks because they have entitlement mentality. According to him, these people feel they are entitled to those services rendered to them, so they see no need offering thanksgiving to God or thanking fellow man for whatever assistance rendered.
The pastor said: “Whatever we get in life, we do not deserve it. There are people who do not see the need for thanking God or man for whatever they are enjoying.”
The Dunamis pastor, who some on “The Value of Thanksgiving”, also said there are people who attribute their results or success to their personal ability, skills and talents, hence they see it not necessary to give thanks to God.
He said this category of people feel there is no need thanking anybody because it is their talent, gifts and ability that gave them the success they are enjoying, hence there is no need thanking God or anybody for their breakthrough in life.
He also said there is the third category of people who are insatiable. He said this set of people are never satisfied. They always feel whatever someone does for them is never enough.
The last group he mentioned is the group is outrightly ungrateful for whatever is done for them. He said this set of people combine pride, arrogance and senselessness to their actions.
The pastor enjoined Christians to always thank God for forgiving their sons, giving them good health and delivering them from the evil works of the devil.
