The Social Democratic Party campaign train on Thursday hit the streets of Patani with Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, the party’s governorship candidate leading the troop.
The momentous occasion was made more special by the philanthropic gesture by Olorogun Gbagi who, on behalf of SDP, favoured a teenager by the name of Precious a secondary school student who took on the task of singing the National anthem in Ijaw dialect.
Gbagi immediately gifted him one hundred thousand naira and more importantly awarded him a scholarship to university level.
The parents of the young man and his family were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude. The entire community was agog with celebration.
The former minister of education, expressed his pain at the rate of poverty and lack of development that has ravaged the local government and promised to use his government to impact the local government area positively.
It did not end there, rather Gbagi also extended his philanthropy to the okada riders in the area by giving them free fuel as he has been doing every where he has been visiting.
The aftermath of hurricane Gbagi was felt thoroughly by the people of Patani.
