Despite protests against nomination of Lauretta Onochie as member representing Delta in the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the National Assembly on Thursday completed the screening process.
During the screening, a member of the screening committee read a document where she was quoted to have said she is engaged in active politics and a member of neighborhood watch.
She was also quoted to havr said: “I’m also a member of the All Progressives Congress and a volunteer of the Buhari Support Organization.”
However, she told the panel that since 2019 after President Muhammadu Buhari won the second term election, she removed herself from anything political.
She told the panel that since 2019 she had never had anything to do with politics. She said when APC was to take part in the revalidation exercise, she never participated in it.
She told the committee pointedly that as she sat with them for the screening, she she is not a membet of any political party in Nigeria.
But the social media is awash with photos of her name appearing number two in the APC register, showing her as a senior member of Ward 4 in Aniocha North local government area of Delta state.
