A 3-month-old baby was on Monday, November 8, 2021, stolen by a strange man in the Dakwa community near Dei-Dei under Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
According to reports, the baby was stolen while her 23-year-old mom identified as Fatimah Kabiru was doing laundry.
It was gathered that the baby who happened to be the third and youngest child was crying while Fatimah was doing laundry.
Upon hearing her cry, the mother asked her first daughter, Mariam, 5, to take her outside to play with her.
While playing with her baby sister, a man approached them and lured Mariam and the baby out of the compound by promising to purchase juice for them.
Mariam was then lured to an uncompleted building. The man then took the baby from her and asked her to wait for him as he is going to buy juice.
After waiting for a long time for the man to get back with her sister and the juice, Mariam ran home, crying. She then narrated what happened to her mom.
Scared to death, the mother raised an alarm and hurried to the said uncompleted building looking for the man. Sadly, he was not found.
The kidnap case was reported at Dakwa Police Station, located a few meters away from the scene of the incident but the police asked her to come back and report the issue if the baby was not found after 48 hours.
Reports have it that the father of the baby, Kabiru Musa, a staff member of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), was away in Imo State for training when the incident happened.
It’s been over one week and the child still hasn’t been found.
