A cross section of women in Asaba, the capital city of Delta State have reacted to the open letter written to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa by killer Fulani herders, threatening to unleash attack on Asaba if he did not denounce his support on ban of open grazing in Southern zone.

Our correspondent who spoke to some of the women in Asaba reports that the women were gripped with fear as they warned that the letter should be taken very seriously.

Mrs. Florence Ugochukwu said that those killer Fulani herders do not value their own lives not to talk of valuing another person’s own.

Mrs. Ugochukwu expressed fear that if proper care is not taken, that we might be taken unawares with these unthoughtful killers.

She said that the threat has led to a big panicking amongst the residents of Asaba.

According to her, if the senseless killers start their wicked acts, people will not see where to run to as Asaba is already over populated with Hausa Muslims.

In her own contribution, Mrs. Chinenye Ogadi complained that the worst part of their challenge was that all the Hausa people chased away by Anambra State have settled in Delta State with a strong sense of belonging to the state.

Mrs. Ogadi advised the security operatives as well as the entire residents of the state not to relax because the killers are not afraid of death so, they don’t care about anybody’s life.

In her own opinion, Lady Josephine Ojo urged the state government led by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to meet with all the security outfits in the state to restrategize on the best way to stop the antics of the killer Fulani herders.

Lady Ojo stated that the threat of the killer Fulani herders was enough to dictate all the Fulani people in the state and chase them away from the state.

Also, Mrs. Tina Ferede suggested that residents should first of all unleash their own attack on the killer Fulani herders before they will start.

She added, ‘ I believe in the maxim that says stop them before they stop you because the best defence is attack”.

She added that the problem of Christians is that they will be there praying for their enemies to repent while their enemies will be busy devising means of dealing with them mercelessly.

” My fear is that they are scattered in our midst and we don’t know them all”, she stated.

All of the women however called upon all the women to embark on effectual fervent prayers so that God will frustrate the efforts of the wicked ones in Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.
