Youths in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta state, specifically Ward 6, to 9, including the Hausa and Igbo communities in the local government area, with so much enthusiasm declared their support for Prince Ned Nwoko, the Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, on Tuesday, 15 November, the second day of Nwoko’s senatorial campaign in the local government area.
The Ika North-East female youths, who trooped out in numbers to support Nwoko, unanimously affirmed that Nwoko is the answer to their prayers, noting that the senatorial candidate has done a lot of philanthropic projects from his personal pocket, therefore, they are very optimistic that he will do more if he gets to the senate.
The youths’ spokesperson, Blessing Akasiri, stated that the name “Ned Nwoko” is a name they are familiar with and that his good works precede him.
She said, “Ned Nwoko is our father! We know him very well. Infact, we call him ‘Venza’ because of the way he speedily fulfills any promise he makes. He is a man that keeps to his words. He likes the good things of life and ensures that everyone around him is happy.
“Ned nwoko is the answer and the time is now. Even the opposition parties will vote for you because of the good things you have done for Nigeria. Only you is enough rescue team. Ned Nwoko comes 2023,” Akasiri added.
The Hausa community in Delta North, which was fully represented in Ward 9, Agbor, also drummed their support for Nwoko. They pledged 100 percent votes for PDP, stressing that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, the PDP vice presidential candidate, has done them well as a governor in Delta state, and they wish to see him at the presidency with their brother, Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.
Nwoko, addressing the youths, said “I will be a Senator for the youths. Becaus my first assignment as a senator will be to pass a bill that will empower one million Nigerian youths every four years, by giving each qualified youth a grant of N50million, to support and expand their already existing businesses. “So, if you like, you can call me the youths’ senator.”
“Atiku and Okowa have agreed to this plan and even promised to make the bill an executive bill. So, for this plan to work, we must have Atiku as the president, and Okowa as the vice president,” Nwoko added.
Amongst other PDP high profilists, physically present on the second day of campaign in Ika South LGA, were; Chief Monday Onyeme, Delta state PDP deputy governorship candidate, Elder Moses Iduh, PDP chairman Delta North, Hon. Victor Nwokolo, and Hon. Festus Okoh, PDP House of Assembly candidate, Ika South constituency.
The Wards visited on the second day of Nwoko’s senatorial campaign in Ika South LGA were; Ward 6 — Agbor-nta, Ward 7 — Agbor, Ward 8 — Agbor, and Ward 9, also in Agbor.
