The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has met with the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, in Abuja as the party continues preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, disclosed the meeting in a post shared on his verified X handle. According to him, the meeting was part of ongoing consultations and deliberations on issues concerning the NDC and Nigeria.
The former governor said the party leaders had met previously and returned to the discussions to further deliberate and finalise decisions ahead of the next general elections. He said the latest meeting was particularly focused on preparations for the unveiling of the party’s Campaign Council.
Dickson also disclosed that he met with Obi and Kwankwaso alongside the National Chairman and other leaders of the party. He said the discussions were aimed at advancing the party’s preparations as it moves towards the 2027 elections.In his message, the NDC national leader urged stakeholders, aspirants and members of the party to remain united and close ranks as the party prepares for the elections.
He called on members to work collectively for the success of the party’s candidates at all levels, stressing the importance of unity among stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting comes as political parties and their leaders continue consultations and preparations ahead of the 2027 elections. Dickson’s disclosure focused on the ongoing discussions within the NDC and the planned unveiling of its Campaign Council.The former Bayelsa governor did not provide further details of the specific decisions reached during the meeting, but stated that the leaders were working towards finalising necessary arrangements ahead of the campaign council’s unveiling.
