2027: To All Discerning Members of Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, By Festus Ubogu

My attention has been drawn to a patently false and misleading report circulating online, suggesting that the Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu has withdrawn from the upcoming 2027 elections for the House of Representatives. As a staunch supporter of his political aspirations, deeply rooted in his commitment to grassroots governance and the unwavering pact he has forged with the people of Aniocha/Oshimili, I feel compelled to address this insidious fabrication.

Let me state unequivocally that this claim is nothing more than a desperate attempt by political adversaries, haunted by the specter of facing Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu in a fair and democratic contest. These are individuals who, driven by fear and insecurity, seek to manipulate public opinion with baseless pronouncements and phantom withdrawals.

It is a matter of public record that the Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, a leader who understands the pulse of his constituency, has not made any such announcement. He remains engaged in ongoing consultations with stakeholders, listening attentively to the voices of those whose lives he has profoundly touched. His decision, whenever it is made, will be communicated directly to the people he has faithfully served.

To those trembling at the prospect of competing against a man of Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu’s stature, I say this: your tactics of spreading misinformation and sowing discord are transparent and futile. They will not diminish his legacy of service, nor will they dissuade the countless individuals who believe in his vision for a better Aniocha/Oshimili.

Let the opposition be clear: when Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu decides to run, we, his loyal supporters, will be ready. We will procure the necessary forms, mount a grassroots campaign befitting his distinguished service, and once again demonstrate the unwavering support he commands within the constituency.

There is no cause for panic, only for anticipation. Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu’s qualities are undeniable, his commitment to the people is steadfast, and his record of achievement speaks for itself. We remain optimistic that he will once again heed the call of his constituents, standing on his exemplary representation and addressing their needs with unparalleled dedication.

Let us keep hope alive, knowing that Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu’s potential return is not born out of personal ambition, but from a profound understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people he has always championed. Discussions are ongoing, and if he accepts the call to serve once more, he will do so with the same unwavering dedication and passion that has defined his career.
