The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. In a condolence message on Sunday, December 28, 2025, Elumelu said he received the news of Dr. Ojei’s death with disbelief, noting that the late business icon was a man of rare vision, integrity and compassion whose life was devoted to service, enterprise and humanity.

According to him, Dr. Ojei’s contributions to Nigeria’s economy through entrepreneurship, job creation and investments across sectors remain indelible, adding that his philanthropic gestures touched countless lives within and outside Delta State.

“Dr. Nuel Ojei was not just a successful businessman, but a father, mentor and benefactor to many. His passion for uplifting humanity, empowering the youth and supporting the less privileged endeared him to all. His passing is a painful loss, not only to Issele-Uku but to the entire Aniocha North Local Government Area and Nigeria as a whole,” Elumelu said.

The former Minority Leader, described the late industrialist as a pillar of development whose legacy of generosity, humility and service will continue to inspire generations.

Rt. Hon. Elumelu extended his heartfelt condolences to the wife, children and entire Nuel Ojei family of Issele-Uku, urging them to take solace in the remarkable life their patriarch lived and the enduring impact he left behind.
