Abba Kyari, the embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, has accused the members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) of being behind his travails.
It would be recalled that Abba Kyari is currently being investigated by the NDLEA over drug-related charges.
Also, he has an impending extradition request to the US over fraud connections with the serial fraudster, Hushpuppi.
Speaking before a probe panel led by Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) at the Force Headquarters, Joseph Egbunike in Abuja, Abba Kyari claimed his character is being attacked by IPOB.
According to him, his reputation is being smeared by members of IPOB/ESN who vowed to destroy him, due to the onslaught against them in the South East.
However, the panel faulted his claim, saying his claim is ‘watery’.
The panel also demoted him from the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police to Assistant Commissioner of Police.
