Arising from the recent threat from suspended DCP Abba Kyari to expose other police officers that threw their weight behind Hushpuppi’s criminal business, a cross section of individuals have said that any police officer or any other individual guilty of corruption should not be treated with kids gloves.
Some of the Nigerians interviewed told Emerald News that DCP Abba Kyari’ s link with Hushpuppi’s fraudulent activities was enough evidence that the police have failed in their responsibility of policing the Nigerian society.
Elder Clement Umor, a retired school teacher said that the likes of Abba Kyari in the Nigeria police force were the people given the police bad name.
According to Elder Umor, many police men have corrupted their handwhich is why criminal activities continue to increase in Nigeria.
On her own part, Mrs. Lucy Uwaya said that police and some other security outfits in Nigeria have shown to be above the law.
Mrs. Uwaya regretted that Nigeria was a country where those that made the law practically live above the law, adding that these ones perpetrate evil with impunity without receiving any punishment.
She bemoaned the situation in the country whereby the poor face the wrath of the law while the rich who commit evil are seen as sacred cows to be preserved.
“It is really unfortunate the way things are going in Nigeria, no wonder why things deriorate day by day before our very eyes because those that made the law defy the very law they made without any interogation”, she stated.
In their contributions, other people who responded to our interview suggested that Nigeria Police Force be scrapped and replaced with another security outfit with integrity.
Emerald News gathered that corruption has eaten deep into the fabrics of NPF while calling for total purging in the force.
They stated that the problem of the country was not from President Muhammadu Buhari but from the corrupted elements in form of human beings in Nigeria.
They urged the judiciary to allow justice to prevail in this Abba Kyari’s case so that the bad eggs in the police and other security apparatus are shown the way out.
