A Kenyan man and his family were left in utter amazement after the man in question was asked by his inlaws to cook for the family when they had visited to pay the lady’s bride price.
Nahashon, as he’s been identified, disclosed that his family took a long trip from Murang’a to Makueni all in Kenya to pay the bride price of the lady he plans to settle down with but their visit turned into one of the most embarrassing moments he’s ever witnessed.
According to the man, moments after they arrived, they found themselves being asked to join in cooking for the event.
The suitor said that their in-laws informed them they were expected to cook for themselves and other guests as is the culture among the Akamba tribe.
In a chat with Kenyan news publisher, Tuko, the man said they went along with some items that had been requested of them by the in-laws as part of the dowry list.
Nahashon narrated that what he thought was a mere joke turned out to be what the other family really meant when they told his family that they were supposed to cook the meals.
Though disappointed by the sudden turn of events, he said they eventually got to cooking adding that the in-laws only provided cooking pots.
The man said; “After arriving in Makueni, we were immediately asked to start cooking for the event. We had to be shown where the firewood and the kitchen are, and we started cooking to our disappointment.
“I have never seen this before but we ate together after we finished cooking and the ceremony was successful”.
