The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called on its members in Delta State to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections, saying only a cohesive party can deliver the massive victory it seeks for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other candidates.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Aniocha South chapter of the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027 in Ogwashi-Uku, the APC Delta North Chairman, Chief Moses Idu, who represented Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, commended the convener of the movement and Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, for empowering the people of the area.
Idu noted that Ufoh distributed 12 grinding machines, 11 sewing machines and cash gifts totalling N1.65 million to beneficiaries, describing the gesture as an example of how political leaders should impact their communities.
“There is no empowerment that is too small. Some people need just N50,000 or N100,000 to solve their immediate problems. I encourage everyone in positions of authority to empower their people in whatever way they can because it will help the party and improve the lives of the people,” he said.
The APC chieftain also urged party members in Aniocha South to put aside their differences and work together for the success of the party.
“Without unity, you cannot give us the votes we need to win the election. I appeal to aggrieved members to return to the party fold. Whatever happened before the primaries should be forgotten.
We are not working for individuals; we are working for the APC,” he stated.
Expressing confidence in the party’s chances in the next election cycle, Idu said the APC was not just expecting victory but a massive win in Delta State, adding that Governor Oborevwori remains a leader who has continued to remember and prioritise the welfare of the people.
Also speaking at the event, the House of Representatives candidate for Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, called on party members and supporters to deliver a “five over five” victory for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
Elumelu urged voters to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, himself as the House of Representatives candidate and Hon. Isaac Anwuzia for Aniocha South, saying a total victory for the APC would further strengthen development in the state and the federal constituency.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Technical Education, Hon. Smart Ijeoma Ufoh, inaugurated the Aniocha South chapter of the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027 and called on residents to support Governor Oborevwori’s re-election bid and the APC in the 2027 general elections.
Ufoh described the movement as a platform inspired by the achievements of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda and aimed at sustaining purposeful leadership and accelerated development across Delta State.
According to him, the movement was founded on the visible impact of the governor’s administration in infrastructure development, education, healthcare, youth empowerment and rural development.
“When leadership delivers, the people have every reason to renew the mandate,” he said, adding that the administration had positively impacted communities across the state through its projects and policies.
The commissioner also highlighted the government’s investments in technical and vocational education, saying the administration was equipping young people with practical skills needed to become globally competitive and employers of labour.
He noted that Aniocha South had benefited from road projects, government appointments and other developmental initiatives, stressing that the Smart Movement was built on evidence of performance rather than political propaganda.
Ufoh further charged members of the movement, party stakeholders, youths, women and community leaders to embark on voter mobilisation campaigns, encourage peaceful participation in the democratic process and spread the message of the achievements of the Oborevwori administration ahead of the 2027 elections.
The event was attended by prominent political figures, including the Chairman of the occasion, Architect Kester Ifeadi, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu, Hon. Isaac Anwuzia, party leaders, traditional rulers, women and youth groups, and members of the Smart Movement for Sheriff 2027.
