It was horrible and bloody on Tuesday evening as fleeing heavily armed bandits attacked mobile police checking points along Sheme- Kankara road in Kankara Local Government of Katsina State.

Eyewitnesses told POLITICS NIGERIA that the terrorists were over 500 in number, shooting sporadically unchallenged.

This attack is coming less that 12 hours after the terrorists killed at least two persons and kidnapped several others in Mai Bakko village, Sabuwa Local Government Area (LGA) of the same Katsina state.

The full details of Tuesday evening’s attack in Kankara is still foggy as at the time of filing this report, but this newspaper gathered that countless casualties were recorded.

Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari, has witnessed lots of attacks by bandits that have claimed the lives of many.

Over 700 people have been reportedly killed by the gunmen in Jibia, Kankara, Dutsinma, Musawa, Danmusa and Safana local government areas of the state in the last five months.
