As Christians around the world celebrate Christmas in commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ, Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has extended warm Yuletide greetings to Nigerians, particularly his constituents across Anioma land.
In a Christmas goodwill message issued in Abuja, Senator Nwoko described the season as one of profound significance, not only for Christians but for humanity at large, given the “graceful spiritual and moral symbolism embodied in the life of Jesus Christ”
He noted that the sacred birth of Christ more than 2,000 years ago heralded an extraordinary life whose influence has continued to shape the world across generations, and congratulated Christians for the rich divine heritage.
The lawmaker, who during the week distributed over one thousand bags of rice and other gifts to communities across Delta North and beyond, described Christmas as a “fiesta of glory and veneration”.
Senator Nwoko urged Christians and all Nigerians to use the festive season to embrace the enduring virtues of love, peace, unity, and shared purpose, which Christ represents.
He further called for consistent demonstration of tolerance, forgiveness, openness, and empathy, noting that these values remain essential to peaceful coexistence among a people created by one God, irrespective of religious, ethnic, or social differences.
“Christmas is a glorious celebration. It symbolises not only the nativity of Jesus Christ but also the essence of his divine mission as Prince of peace. I rejoice with Christians across Nigeria, Delta State, and Anioma land in particular on this joyful occasion.
“On behalf of my family and political associates, I wish all Nigerians boundless joy this Yuletide season. Merry Christmas,” the senator said.
