Nigerians have come out hard against the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, Dr. Chikwe Ihekweazu for saying that January 2021 will be a tough month following Nigerians flagrant violation of COVID-19 protocols.

The people of Nigeria have remained adamant to the warnings and advise of the disease control agency which has continuously warned against large gathering, crowded environment and demanded continuous wearing of facemasks as one of the means of warding off the virus.
But rather than abide by the directive of the agency, Nigerians have disregarded the healthcare directive and continued with their lives as usual. In a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, Dr. Ihekweazu said following the flagrant violation of protocols, the month of January 2021 will be very tough for the country.
Hear him: “January will be a tough month, no doubt about it. So, we have to brace ourselves for the consequences of the activities we have decided to carry out in December. Event centres are full, social activities are full, so it is no surprises that cases are rising.”
But Nigerians did not take it lightly with him. They replied him anger and annoyance. Some said it is him and his family that they new year will be tough for and not for them.
