Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has called on the people of Delta Central and the wider Urhobo Nation to use the Christmas season as a period of reflection, love, and reconciliation.
In a Christmas message released to mark the 2025 festivities, the senator described Christmas as more than a time for celebration, noting that it is also a season for deep reflection and gratitude to God for His blessings.
Senator Dafinone urged the people to reflect on the progress recorded in 2025 as Urhobo people, as Deltans, and as Nigerians, while also acknowledging the challenges faced during the year.
He emphasized the need for collective appreciation of achievements and lessons learned as a people.
Highlighting the spiritual significance of the season, the lawmaker said Christmas symbolizes God’s unconditional love for humanity, demonstrated through the birth of Jesus Christ.
He noted that this act of divine love should inspire individuals and communities to show kindness, compassion, and understanding toward one another.
The senator called on the people of Delta Central and the entire Urhobo Nation to embrace the spirit of being their “brother’s keeper” by supporting one another and strengthening communal and family ties. According to him, such unity reflects the true meaning of Christmas.
He further appealed for reconciliation at all levels, including among families, friends, and political associates. Senator Dafinone encouraged citizens to use the season to heal old wounds, forgive past grievances, and move forward with renewed hope and clarity of purpose.
Looking ahead, he expressed optimism about the future and urged the people to prepare with unity and focus for the journey toward 2027.
