Youth leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from the 25 local government areas of Delta State have reaffirmed their commitment to mobilising support for the party’s presidential candidates, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as well as the Delta State governorship candidate, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The resolution was reached on Friday during the maiden strategic meeting of the Delta State ADC Youth Leadership Council held in Asaba, where participants reviewed the party’s preparedness for the forthcoming elections and adopted measures to strengthen its grassroots structure across the state.
Speaking during the meeting, the Delta State ADC Youth Leader, Prince Ukuanovwe Godstime Oj, described the ADC as the nation’s most credible political alternative, noting that the party has demonstrated its commitment to youth inclusion by entrusting young people with key leadership and administrative responsibilities.
He charged the local government youth keaders to intensify grassroots mobilisation, expand the party’s reach to every ward and community, and take the ADC message to every eligible voter across Delta State.
“The responsibility before us is enormous. We must return to our respective local government areas and build a formidable youth movement that will deliver victory for the ADC in 2027. The future belongs to those who are prepared to organise, mobilise and lead,” he said.
The meeting also resolved to issue a communiqué containing strategic recommendations and policy directions aimed at strengthening the party’s structures, improving youth participation, and enhancing electoral success in the 2027 general elections.
In a unanimous resolution, the youth leaders declared their total support for the Atiku/Amaechi presidential ticket and the governorship ambition of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru, describing the candidates as symbols of resilience, courage, experience and visionary leadership capable of providing purposeful governance.
The council pledged to embark on sustained grassroots mobilisation, voter education and youth engagement across the 25 Local Government Areas, expressing confidence that the ADC is well-positioned to make significant electoral gains in Delta State and across Nigeria in the 2027 polls.
