Delta state commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Kelly Penawou, has lauded what he called the outstanding achievements of Comrade Friday Ovoke Warri, chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of the state state, within the space of four months in office.
Giving the commendation during a one day visit to the council chairman in Oleh, headquarters of the council, Penawou expressed joy and satisfaction saying the council is one of the best in the area of commitment to diviend of democracy to the people.
“In my visits to several local governments, I have observed a young man making concerted efforts to serve his people, creating a lasting legacy. Ovoke is performing exceptionally well,
and I strongly recommend that everyone extend their support to him.
“I am here, representing the state governor, to assess your performance as chairman and ensure alignment with the state government’s M.O.R.E. agenda program. I implore the people of Isoko South to provide him with the necessary support and encouragement, refraining from distractions that could hinder his visionary plans for the local government area.”, the commissioner noted.
Taking the commissioner on a tour of projects embarked upon by his administration in the last four months, the Isoko South council boss, Friday Ovoke Warri, thanked the commissioner and his inspection team from Asaba the state capital for the visit and reiterated the commitment of his administration’s focus on comprehensive development of the local government in line with governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
The council chairman affirmed his administration’s dedication to enhancing Isoko South local government, maximising its potential despite inherent challenges, for the ultimate benefit of its populace.
“Since taking office, we have experienced fluctuations, but steady progress has been achieved. Administrative stability has been enhanced with reliable power, completed projects, and upcoming initiatives in Oleh and other communities.”
Among the projects inspected by the commissioner and his inspection team includes the completed upgrade of the 15KVA solar system, renovations of the HPM quarters, the ongoing construction of a modern council gatehouse, renovations of the chairman’s quarters, rehabilitation of Ogbemudia road and drainage, and rehabilitation of bad spots along Idheze road to the Isoko North boundary via Ozoro-Idheze road.
Present during the inspection of projects were the Isoko South vice chairman, Theresa Ikrike, SLG, Zino Osuofa, HPM Mrs. Marry Iroro Ofogbor, Majority Leader of the legislative arm, Ms. Eloho, supervisory councillors and among others.
