As the political atmosphere in Delta State gradually builds momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, renowned journalist and Niger Delta advocate,Comr. Iteveh Ekpokpobe, has officially declared his intention to contest for the Isoko South I Constituency seat in the Delta State House of Assembly.

Iteveh made his declaration at the All Progressives Congress (APC) Secretariat in Oleh, where he formally informed party executives, stakeholders, and supporters of his ambition to represent the constituency.

The Oleh-born media practitioner and activist said his decision to join the race is driven by a long-standing passion for grassroots development and his commitment to advancing the socio-economic and infrastructural growth of Isoko land.

“My intention to run for the hallowed chambers is rooted in my desire to push for sustainable development and ensure human capital advancement for our people,” he stated.

Comr. Iteveh, an indigene of Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area, highlighted his contributions to community development, noting that he has facilitated several grassroots initiatives even without holding public office.

Among his notable interventions is the provision of a pipe-borne water project with 21 functional taps in his community, an initiative that has improved access to clean water for residents.

He also disclosed that, through his advocacy and engagements, several youths from the area have secured employment opportunities with private companies, while others receive stipends as part of empowerment efforts.

“My track record of agitations for the Niger Delta, particularly Isoko Nation, shows clearly that I understand the issues and I am ready to represent the people effectively,” he added.

He pledged to prioritize policies that would drive infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic opportunities across the constituency if elected.

His declaration is a significant development in the Isoko South I political landscape, with expectations that the contest for the seat will attract more aspirants in the coming months.

Stakeholders and supporters at the APC local chapter welcomed his ambition, describing it as part of the growing democratic participation ahead of the elections.
