Delta State chapter of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has passed an explicit vote of confidence on Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, the governorship candidate of the party, in the March 18th 2023 election.
The confidence vote was passed on the former Minister of State for Education, for effectively leading the party in the way of progress and his leadership acumen that has taken the party thus far since he joined the party.
The motion for the direct vote of confidence was moved on Sunday July 9th 2023, by Pastor Agbule Agbula, Udu Local Government Area (LGA) Chairman.
It was seconded by his Ughelli South LGA counterpart, Pastor Amos Osiki, who doubles as the LGA Chairman of the SDP gubernatorial flag bearer.
According to them, “Gbagi, has a solid performance track record in the leadership of the party since rejoining SDP, with landmark achievements.
“Stability in consensus building within party ranks through regular interactive meetings between the leadership and followership at all levels of the party in the state and national.
“Regular support for party activities as required and permitted under law such as saw SDP coast home comfortably to victory at the 2023 elections winning the governorship, a mandate that was stolen but working round the clock to reclaim it at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, sitting in Asaba, the State capital.
“And total sponsorship of the party’s campaigns and electioneering efforts at the 2023 polls from the state down to the polling units.
“The above enumerated and more have placed Gbagi, a philanthropist on a platform of high esteem and honour in SDP, such as qualifies him for accolades.
“It is, therefore, a motion of the Delta SDP SWC that a Vote of Confidence be passed on Gbagi for his steadfast loyalty and selfless sacrificial leadership to our great party, the SDP”.
