The Most Reverend John Aruakpor Bishop of the Oleh Diocese led the senior chiefs and arch deacons of the Oleh Diocese of the Anglican Church to welcome SDP governorship candidate, Olorogun Kenneth Gbagi to St Michael Anglican Church.
Speaking to the clergy men, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi said,
”The church is paying a big price for our decision not to be political. Unless the church is political, you will soon find yourselves taking permission from a Muslim before you can enter your place of worship”
He said “Delta state has produced majority of the biggest adventurers in business in Nigeria and it is sad that with so much that God has endowed us with, there’s so much poverty staring us in the face”.
While recounting the excessive increment of prices of goods and services between the Goodluck Jonathan administration which he was a part of as a minister and the current economy, Gbagi pleaded with the people gathered to make their voting power count.
He urged the church to take the destiny of themselves, their unborn children and Delta state into serious consideration while making the decision to vote.
