Foremost governorship aspirant in Delta state, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, has said that for the years he will be in Delta government house if elected governor, he will not use government vehicle. He said now that he is a private citizen he uses Rolls Royce, he does not need government vehicle when he becomes governor.
Olorogun Gbagi, who is waxing stronger daily and gaining wide acceptance from the generality of Deltans following his great plans for the state, said his business being in government house is to turn around the fortune of the state and leave a lasting legacy for generations yet unborn.
Gbagi, who is among the three aspirants recently screened and accepted by the DC-23, a lobby group for Delta central, noted that immediately he assumes the seat of power, from day one he will begin the process of pulling all youths of Delta origin from joblessness and poverty.
Olorogun Gbagi spoke on Wednesday when he met with PDP local government and ward executives of Uvwie local government area at the party secretariat in Effurun Delta state.
He was received with a rousing welcome where the party leaders, youths and others gathered to give audience to the frontline governorship aspirant in the state.
Gbagi, reputed with industrialisation strategy and great business acumen, told the party executives that he has no stolen money to throw away but with his hard earned money and the investment knowledge he has he would turn Delta to Dubai within the years of his stay in government house.
As a proof of his entrepreneural ability, Olorogun Gbagi has established busineses around Delta, especially in Warri and Effurun areas where a host of Delta youths have been gainfully employed and earning a living for themselves.
Within the next few months, a multi-million dollar bottling company established by Gbagi in Warri will begin to take youths off Delta streets and engage them in production process.
At the party secretariat, Gbagi said: “Those of us who grew up in Uvwie knew how it was many years ago. All the white men were here. There was food, there was business but how is it now? Many of you believe too much lies. Ask them what they have put on ground to better the future of our children.
“What should be uppermost in our minds should be the development of the state. The little money given to you will finish. We should think about our future and the prosperity of our children. I have risen in this country to the position of a minister. The Federal University of Petroleum Resources (FUPRE) was my creation. People do not remember good things but bad ones.
“Within 26 days of my ministerial appointment I took a memo to the Federal Executive Council for the establishment of FUPRE. Nobody can change it. That university has come to stay. Besides this, in my private capacity I have put investment to change the landscape of Uvwie.
“We have a big plan and I know where we are going. Let us not play wayo this time. Previous wayo is affecting our children. Don’t do what will affect the destiny of your children.
“We must develop this state and that starts with who becomes the governor in 2023. Don’t allow them to deceive you. Never accept it. Let us collectively change the narrative of politics in this state. I am not a thief, I have never stolen and I cannot steal.”
In his response, the Uvwie local government party chairman, Chief Efe Okonedo, said Olorogun Gbagi has good things and encouraged party executives to examine all he had said.
He said Gbagi has promised to bring development to the state. He advised the guber aspirant not to leave any stone unturned in his quest to govern Delta, noting that as a party, the executives would discuss and take a decision at the appropriate time.
He said Gbagi has what it takes, the experience and the contacts to bring his words to fruition.
