Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Senator Ede Dafinone, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uvwie Local Government Area to close ranks, intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.

Dafinone made the call during a consultation meeting with APC leaders and stakeholders at Festus Keyamo Hall in Effurun, where he urged party members to strengthen the party’s structure and sustain engagement with voters across Uvwie local government area.

The senator called for the reconciliation of party members who may have become aggrieved or disengaged following the APC primary elections, stressing that the task ahead required unity and a deliberate effort to bring every member back into the party’s fold.

He also urged APC members to mobilise support for the party’s candidates at all levels, from President Bola Tinubu to candidates contesting for seats in the National Assembly and the Delta State House of Assembly.

Speaking at the meeting, the Uvwie APC Chairman, Comrade Dickson Sylvester Oghenevwede, congratulated Dafinone on emerging as the party’s senatorial candidate and described his candidacy as a collective project for the party and Delta State.

Oghenevwede said the 2027 contest should not be viewed as Dafinone’s battle alone, maintaining that the election would test the strength, unity and capacity of the APC and its leadership to mobilise support across the state.

He assured the gathering that the Uvwie chapter of the party was committed to delivering votes for all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, JP, said APC stakeholders in Uvwie had stepped up mobilisation and engagement across different communities, including residents from Arewa, Igbo, Hausa and other non-indigenous groups.

According to him, the party’s strategy was to build broad-based support across Uvwie and ensure that eligible voters were effectively mobilised ahead of the 2027 polls.

The APC candidate for Okpe, Sapele and Uvwie Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief Ramson Onoyake, JP, called on party members and supporters to work for the victory of Dafinone, himself and other APC candidates, urging eligible voters to support the party from the presidential election down to the state legislature.

Similarly, the APC candidate for Uvwie State Constituency, Hon. Barr. Edafe Emakpor, urged party leaders and stakeholders to intensify voter mobilisation, stressing that victory would depend on the collective efforts of party members and supporters at the grassroots.

In his remarks, the Delta Central APC Chairman, Chief P.D.O. Akpeki, said unity, cooperation and effective grassroots engagement remained critical to the party’s success, urging candidates and leaders to work closely with party faithful across the district.

Akpeki said the APC’s objective was to deliver all its candidates in the 2027 elections and expressed optimism that Delta State could emerge among the leading states in terms of support for President Tinubu’s re-election.

The consultation, which brought together APC leaders, candidates and stakeholders in Uvwie, formed part of Dafinone’s ongoing efforts to consolidate party unity, strengthen grassroots structures and build a broad mobilisation network across Delta Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
