A new name entered Delta North politics. Clout chasers. Mosquitoes. Small voices. Noise makers.
The name came from the old order. And the name was accepted. History shows never underestimate a mosquito.
The Parable of the Mosquito and the Dinosaur.
Once, a dinosaur ruled the forest. Very big. Very old. For years, the ground shook under dinosaur steps. The roar sent animals running. The best leaves, the cleanest water, belonged to the dinosaur. The forest heard daily – without the dinosaur, the forest would die.
For a long time, the forest believed.
Then small mosquitoes gathered. Tired of scratching. Tired of malaria. Tired of being called nothing.
The dinosaur laughed. “Mosquitoes? What can mosquitoes do? So big, so strong, with LGA Chairmen, SAs, SSAs, retired Councillors and Chairmen, youth groups, money, government structure.”
The mosquitoes answered with louder buzzing.
Lesson One: Why the Sleepless Nights?
A person unbothered by mosquitoes does not buy mosquito nets, insecticides, or hire fumigators.
If mosquitoes remain irrelevant, why the scratching? Why endless meetings about mosquitoes? Why deployment of an entire political army to chase mosquitoes? The malaria indicates power.
Today, the buzzing of the NDC mosquito fills every street of Delta North – Aniocha North, Aniocha South, Oshimili North, Oshimili South, Ika North East, Ika South, Ndokwa East, Ndokwa West, Ukwuani. Too loud to ignore.
Lesson Two: Small Size, Giant Fall.
History does not favour the big. History favours the determined.
Goliath fell not to another giant, but to a small boy with a stone.
Pharaoh, with chariots and horses, bowed to tiny frogs, lice, and locusts.
Consider recent Nigerian politics. Those who labelled the Obedient Movement as mosquitoes in 2023 where did that politics end? The former leader who labelled Ngozi Okolie as mosquito in 2023 where did that politics end?
Mosquitoes need no permission to bite. No INEC structure. No Supreme Court judgement. Only a small opening. Anioma people have opened the window.
Lesson Three: The Real Clout Chasing.
The clout chaser label demands examination.
On one side, a party built from scratch, an accomplished legislator per excellence, investments in Sports, Human Capital Development, Socio-economic Welfare, a campaign built on ideas – Victor Ochei.
On the other side, a journey from party leadership in one party to embrace of a once abused party, pursuit of Senate clout, pursuit of VP clout in 2023 against the South, pursuit of fresh clout in 2027 against Anioma rotation.
The people of Delta North know the real clout chasing.
Lesson Four: Time to End the Malaria.
For years, Delta North endured political malaria contracts without roads, empowerment without jobs, appointments without power. Constant scratching, complaining, crying.
Now the mosquito arrives to suck out bad blood.
If NDC supporters remain mosquitoes, then Anopheles Anioma represents the cure. The bite brings fever to godfatherism, and cure to the people.
Keep the Raid. Keep the insecticide. Mosquitoes remain too many. Breeding ground exists in every gutter left uncleared, in every stagnant water left unattended across Delta North.
On February 16, 2026, the swarm of insulted mosquitoes will vote.
Then the lesson every dinosaur finally learns becomes clear: No matter how big, slapping all mosquitoes at once remains impossible.
Mosquitoes remain everywhere. Unstoppable.
Olikeze is coming.
