Dr. Michael Nwoko, a senior special assistant to the Delta state governor on health monitoring and Chief of Staff to Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko, has sent condolence message to the family of late Asagba and people of Asaba the Delta state capital.
The late monarch, who was a professor of medicine, was aged 100 years, and he was the 13th Asagba of Asaba, having ascended the throne on July 1, 1991.
During his reign in the kingdom of Asaba, there was unprecedented peace in the city of Asaba as the people and other residents of Asaba being the political and administrative capital of Delta state lived in harmony without rancour.
Dr. Nwoko, in a condolence message made available to Emerald News, said the Asagba, whose passing would be missed by the people of Delta state and Nigerians, said his contribution to the field of medicine was invaluable.
He said the late Asagba of Asaba was a father figure to all, just as he insisted that the monarch was always bent on advocating causes that will engender peace and harmonious co-existence within his kingdom.
Dr. Michael Nwoko, who is popularly called “The Political Oshobe” among friends and admirers, added that the late monarch guided jealousy, the culture and traditions of the people of Asaba.
He said Asagba of Asaba was one of the best traditional rulers in Nigeria, noting that he truly exemplified the ancient qualities desirous of a first-class traditional ruler.
He said the people of Asaba, Delta state, and the entire nation will miss him as an erudite professor of medicine. He prayed God to give the immediate family and Asaba people, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
