Dr. Michael Nwoko, Chief of Staff to Senator Ned Nwoko and a leading youth mobilisation figure within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has intensified nationwide efforts to position Nigerian youths at the centre of the 2027 general elections.

His calls were amplified during a youth mobilisation and civic engagement conference in Abuja and the official launch of the Youth Structure for Asiwaju (YSA), also known as the Asiwaju Boys/Girls Group, at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.

At the conference, which drew over 500 young participants including student leaders, digital campaigners, entrepreneurs, and grassroots organisers, Dr. Nwoko highlighted the increasing political relevance of young Nigerians.

He noted that nearly 70% of newly registered voters in the last election cycle were youths, positioning them as decisive actors in the 2027 elections.
The conference featured discussions on strengthening youth participation, combating political apathy, enhancing digital political communication, and promoting issue-based political engagement.
Dr. Nwoko emphasised that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration has implemented reforms aimed at economic stability, job creation, digital innovation, agriculture, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment.
He stressed that continuity of these reforms is essential for securing a more prosperous future for young people.
Dr. Nwoko warned against the dangers of misinformation on social media and called for credible, community-based engagement through town halls, campus tours, and grassroots sensitisation.
He urged youths to use their numbers constructively, stressing that their unified support for President Tinubu would be a determining factor in the 2027 elections.
He reaffirmed that Senator Ned Nwoko’s office would continue supporting youth organisations and civic education structures working toward APC electoral victories.
In Abuja, during the official unveiling of the Youth Structure for Asiwaju, Dr. Nwoko reiterated the importance of giving young people a sense of belonging within national politics.
He explained that the movement prioritises organic, data-driven mobilisation rather than cosmetic, short-term election tactics such as monetary inducements.
According to him, young Nigerians deserve accurate information about government actions at all levels, and the support group is committed to bridging information gaps with transparency and integrity.
During the press briefing, Dr. Nwoko acknowledged past electoral challenges but affirmed that President Tinubu is implementing measures to prevent their recurrence.
He stated that the key to overcoming electoral issues lies in giving youths relevance, involvement, and recognition through initiatives such as ministerial appointments and expanded youth-focused programmes.
He warned that leaving young people disengaged creates a vacuum that can be exploited, whereas integrating them into governance strengthens national stability.
Dr. Nwoko emphasised the necessity of a data-driven approach for identifying, capturing, and engaging eligible young voters across national, state, zonal, and local levels.
He disclosed that the YSA will deploy technology to reach millions of Nigerian youths, propagate the President’s vision, and amplify awareness about government policies and initiatives.
He described Nigeria’s large youth population as a major national asset that remains underutilised but holds enormous potential for economic productivity and democratic consolidation.
Dr. Nwoko urged young Nigerians to recognise their collective strength, unite their ideas, and play active roles in national development.
He affirmed that President Tinubu is committed to the nation’s progress and requires the support of its youth to actualise a prosperous future.
Dr. Nwoko assured Nigerians that preparations toward the 2027 general election are underway and expressed optimism that the country’s youthful population will lead the charge toward a more inclusive, progressive, and technologically advanced Nigeria.
