A man who is suspected to be in his 70s, name withheld, has slumped in Ward 6 polling station, Burr Primary school, Aniocha North local government area, Delta state.
It was gathered that, the elderly was struggling to maintain balance in the voting queue. He, however, lost consciousness and slumped.
With the help of other electorates around, he was quickly resuscitated. The elderly man has now regained consciousness.
He was advised to go home by people around, but he insisted on exercising his civil right before heading home.
Majority have blamed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the incident.
They stressed that, it was INEC’s delay in commencing the electoral process,that led to the unfortunate incident. They pointed out that, the man shouldn’t have queued in the line for so long, given his age.
As at 11:55am, voting is yet to start in this very polling station; Burr Primary school, Issele-Uku.
