Immediate Past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ndudi Elumelu OON, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, following the demise of Chief Nwanze Nwaodua, Odogwu of Asaba.

Elumelu in a statement on Saturday November 22, 2025 expressed his deepest sympathies to the family of the late Chief Nwanze Nwaodua, describing him as a prominent high chief who demonstrated exceptional loyalty to the Asagba Palace.

He highlighted Chief Nwaodua’s outstanding understanding of Asaba’s rich tradition and cultural heritage, as well as his contributions to the community’s development and lamented that his passing would be greatly missed.

Chief Nwanze Nwaodua passed away after he slumped during the 70th birthday anniversary celebration of the Asagba of Asaba.

The Asagba has ordered a week-long mourning period, with markets in Asaba closed on Thursday, November 20, 2025, to honour the late illustrious Son and prominent Chief of the community.

Elumelu described the demise of the Odogwu as a huge loss and prayed to God to console the Asagba, the Nwanze Nwaodua family, and the entire Kingdom of Asaba, urging them to find solace in the Lord God Almighty.
