The Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has charged the 2026 Batch C Stream I Corps Members deployed to the state to embrace the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to acquire practical skills that would break unemployment barriers and enhance their prospects beyond the service year.

He also urged the Corps members to adopt discipline, prioritise their safety and take full advantage of skills acquisition opportunities throughout their service year.

Governor Diri gave the charge during the Swearing-In Ceremony for the 2026 Batch C Stream I Orientation Course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Boro Town, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Alfred Kemepade Nimizigha, the Governor congratulated the Corps Members on the successful completion of their academic pursuits and their response to the call to national service, describing their participation in the Scheme as a demonstration of patriotism and commitment to national unity.

He highlighted some of the State Government’s educational initiatives, particularly its emphasis on vocational skills, science and technology, and encouraged the Corps Members to take advantage of available skills acquisition and entrepreneurship opportunities to become self-reliant.
