The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has fired back at viral social media rumors, branding a document claiming the suspension of upkeep allowances for the 2025/2026 session as 100% FAKE.
The Fund’s Director of Strategic Communications, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, squarely rejected the July 10 memo falsely attributed to her, warning beneficiaries and the public to ignore the “misinformation” and rely ONLY on official channels.
“The federal government has NOT approved any suspension,” she declared, confirming that both tuition and upkeep disbursements for eligible students in public institutions remain fully active and ongoing.
The dodgy document had falsely alleged that funds for May, June, and beyond were “unreleased” and promised payments “after allocations are received.” NELFUND labeled the narrative as dangerous AI-generated propaganda designed to erode public trust.
Bottom Line: Loans are being paid. Don’t fall for the clickbait. Verify everything through NELFUND’s official platforms before sharing.
