FG makes important steps in ameliorating pains of crisis-ridden communities in this state

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has presented relief materials to victims of various attacks in Northern Plateau state.

Chief assistant relief and rehabilitation officer, NEMA North Central zone, Judith Ivereen Bai, presented the relief material to the Senator representing Northern Plateau state Sen Istifanus Gyang, whose constituents are mostly affected.

She explained that the relief materials which are foodstuffs, are to given to the affected communities, as contributions of the federal government through the ministry of humanitarian affairs as requested by Sen Istifanus Gyang.

According to NEMA, Sen Gyang had written to the ministry through NEMA requesting for humanitarian assistance to his constituent’s.

The affected communities are from Riyom, Barkinladi, Bassa and Jos North LGA’s, some are completely displaced from there ancestral homes.

Senator Istifanus Gyang then handed over the relief materials to leaders of the affected communities for onward distribution to victims; he explained that some persons are still in IDP camps.

Meanwhile, Senator Istifanus Gyang presented 73 brand new motor bikes to PDP ward chairmen of Northern senatorial district of Plateau state to be used for security surveillance and speedy reporting of attacks.

“The bikes are part of the management of security at our rural areas. Beneficiaries are expected to use the bikes to coordinate and mobilize and tackle insecurities in their areas.” Sen Gyang noted

Speaking with journalists, shortly after presentation of the relief materials and bikes, the Federal Lawmaker worried that his constituent’s have been persistently attacked for no just cause.

“Most of my Constituent’s no longer go to farms due Herder killer men.” With this ugly development, there is a competing demand for humanitarian assistance.” Sen Gyang stated.

Sen Gyang therefore called on the Federal and State governments to properly secured Nigerians, the lawmaker urged that suspects who are arrested for various crimes should be prosecuted accordingly.
