With the 2026 FIFA World Cup entering its decisive stage, Adidas has officially unveiled a special-edition match ball that will be used for the tournament’s final four matches, including both semi-finals, the third-place playoff and the grand final.
The newly introduced Trionda replaces the version used throughout the earlier rounds of the competition. While the original ball celebrated the tournament’s three host nations the United States, Canada and Mexico with a vibrant combination of green, red and blue, the latest edition features an elegant White, Black and Gold Metallic colour scheme inspired by the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy.
According to Adidas, the redesigned ball also honours the journey of the tournament by displaying the names of several host cities that have welcomed matches featuring some of football’s biggest stars, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.
The design also highlights New York and New Jersey, where the FIFA World Cup final will take place at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, July 19.
The unveiling comes as the race for football’s biggest prize reaches its most exciting phase. Several pre-tournament favourites, including France, Spain, Portugal, England and Argentina, remain in contention as fans around the world eagerly await the semi-finals and the crowning of the next world champion.
Adidas has consistently introduced special-edition match balls for the closing stages of major tournaments, with the latest Trionda combining cutting-edge technology and a trophy-inspired design to mark the biggest moments of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
