The governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Delta state, Olorogun Barrister Kenneth Gbagi, said the presidential candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, would never be president in Nigeria.
He listed two contenders for the presidential seat as those who are qualified and have met the requirements to contest the presidential election in the country come 2023.
According to him, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, Esq., from Ondo state and his counterpart from Anambra state under the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, whom he said are Christians from the south, repeating that, “it is the turn for Christians to produce the next president of Nigeria”.
He, however, called on Nigerians to queue behind the SDP presidential candidate, Prince Adebayo, whom he rated above his Labour Party counterpart, saying “If you put the two together for a debate, one will score 90, the other one will score 60 and I know Adebayo Adewole will score more because he is brighter”, he stressed.
The move of the former minister of S
state for education would bury the presidential ambition of the former vice president under president Olusegun Obasanjo.
Gbagi, a renowned Criminologist, said the turn of the north and by extension Muslim ticket ends in 2023 with president Muhammadu Buhari, whom he said is finishing his tenure by May 2023.
The move would also see the presidential ambition of the former Lagos state governor and national leader cum presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, buried altogether.
Addressing eminent men and women under the auspices of Ubulu 82 Club, in Ubulu-Uku, Aniocha south local government area of Delta state, Gbagi said there was an agreement for the president of Nigeria to rotate between north (Muslims) and South (Christians).
In his analogy, the SDP gubernatorial candidate said the singular arrangement was what made it possible for president Goodluck Jonathan to emerge as president.
Hear him: “I was a former minister of education in Nigeria, under Jonathan. We took a decision that if one Muslim rules, the second person to rule must be a Christian. So, I represented Delta state at the apex body as a member of the executive council of Nigeria.
“We took a decision that one north, one south and that was when Obasanjo finished, it went to Yara’Adua. When Yara’Adua died by some coincidences, it came to Jonathan.
“They have come to serve their tenure, the worst government we have ever experienced in Nigeria, is this government. Now, they are finishing and one man whom all of you know as a former Custom officer, you know his records better than I do. But he is a Muslim.
“He used money to buy all the delegates, bought everybody and Delta state is paying the chunk of the money, that is why you see the debts that we are owing today. He took our money and emerged as the candidate of PDP.
“He is a Muslim, God in heaven forbids it. The implication is that, one Muslim finished with so much destruction, another Muslim wants to continue.
“Our mothers can’t go to the farm. Cows are more valuable than all our lives and this man has told us that he would continue with the RUGA settlement which means you are going to forfeit your lands.
“In every community, you see herdsmen carrying Radio about. There is a plan and the only option that we have is for you to call your children, families and use the PVC to vote them out.
“It is a deception for another Muslim to be president plus the fact that all of you that have children and grandchildren, you are saying that none of your children will never be president in Nigeria.
“Obviously, if it comes to money, they have taken your oil and everything. So, they can always buy all the delegates at every given time. Please, be wise. Atiku will be worst than Buhari. Atiku is not an option. Be wise, Atiku is not an option,” the Criminologist reiterated.
He said the reason for the explanation was for Deltans and by extension, Nigerians to understand the devastating effect of voting for Atiku or Tnubu in 2023.
“Everywhere I go, apart from doing my campaigns, I go to meet bodies and talk to them for them to be able to understand the implications. We are in a very bad time and parents like you, should take it very serious. We cannot do Muslim-Muslim”, he warned.
