Lionel Messi is an astonishing footballer who has gained legendary status in the world today and his popularity exceeds the bounds of just football as he is loved and celebrated by both football lovers and others.

Here are some facts about Messi that you should know as a fan.

Messi’s full name is Lionel Andrés Messi Cuccitini. He was born in Ontario, Argentina.

He is 35 years old, born 24 June 1987.

He is married to model and childhood friend Antonela Rocuzzo.

They grew up in the same hometown in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina. The two met through his friend, and her cousin Lucas Scaglia, who Leo played soccer with in his youth.

According to Talksport, on the issue of retirement, Lionel Messi says he’s not retiring from international football after World Cup triumph, and Argentina boss Lionel Scaloni wants him to play at 2026 tournament.

Lionel Messi says he will not retire from Argentina just yet, saying he wants to “experience a few more games as a world champion.”
