Numbers of people sustained injuries, good and properties destroyed, as the popular Onitsha drug market (Ogbo ogwu), catches fire on Tuesday, 8 November.
As at the time of this report, the actual cause of the fire has not been ascertained, as well as the total number of casualties.
LIB reported that the director, Fire Service in the state, Engr. Martin Agbili, who confirmed the incident said the cause of the fire outbreak has not been ascertained.
The police spokesperson, Tochukw Ikenga, who also confirmed the incident, however, assured that the situation is under control.
“The situation is under control. The deputy Commissioner in charge of Operation is currently there, and the fire service operatives are also on ground. Further details shall be communicated please, ” Ikenga said.
