The #endbadgovernance protest which is billed to run from August 1 to 10 has started in Asaba the Delta state capital.
The protesters converged at the popular Interbau roundabout from where they proceeded through the Nnebisi road to the main market Ogbeogonogo.
But later, the soldiers and police gave way paving the way for the protesters to move in a file out and headed towards the Nnebisi road through to the Ogbeogonogo market.
Moving round the town, Asaba city was completely locked down as shops, businesses, markets, offices, everywhere was completely under lock and key.
Streets of the city were deserted as Emerald News went round the city. Most of the businesses were shutdown over fear of looting by some hungry protesters.
