Omoyele Sowore, activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, has twitted that comrades who are in the forntline fighting to rescue the injured are being prevented from evacuating the wounded at the Lekki toll gate.
The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo Olu, had earlier on Tuesday, giving orders, imposing curfew on the entire Lagos state, banning every resident from moving out as from 4.pm, following increased violence attending the #EndSARS protest.
But a large number of the protest refused to stay at home as they are hellbent on continuing the protest at the gate. Report also emerged that some personnel, allegedly from the Lagos state government, removed the CCTV camera and switched off the light prior to the dastardly action of the Nigerian soldiers.
Following the removal of the CCTV and light out, the soldiers entered the midst of the protesters and released gunfire at them, killing a number of the protesters and injuring others. Some persons have twitted that the soldiers were seizing the corpse to prevent evidence against them.
Others also twitted that Nigeria army barred people attempting to carry out aids on the injured.
But Omoyele Sowore twitted saying: “#Endsars death toll rising at #LekkiMassacre. Comrades on the frontline said they are barricaded on both sides and can’t evacuate the wounded! This is the worst that could happen to any youth population anywhere in the world!”
Nigerians all over the nation are mourning the death of the young, promising youths who stake their lives for better life for all Nigerians, both for the soldiers, the police and all Nigerian citizens.
