Wife of the Delta state governor, Dame Edith Okowa, has charged couples to maintain a high level of integrity as it is the bedrock of a successful marriage.
She gave the charge on Sunday 15th May 2022, during the 2022 couples forum with the theme: “integrity in marriage”, held at the Event Centre, Asaba, Delta state.
“Integrity is what makes a human being, anyone that has no integrity, does not have any reason to live. Unfortunately, most persons that do not have integrity do not know it because the moment you have lost your integrity, you have lost everything”, she warned.
She charged participants at the event to take advantage of the teaching to correct any marital issues ranging from character, disloyalty among others.
“This is the time for us to begin to build our homes and character. It takes real boldness to talk like this. We must build our character because that is what we are going to meet God with.
“This is a very beautiful gathering, where we are here is just a while. Where we are going to is what really matters”
She commended the Director General of O5′ Initiative, Mrs. Kevwe Agas, for her dedication and commitment, “She has worked with me since seven years running. I want to believe that if you serve well you will be a good leader”.
A couple whose marriage has climbed 47 years, won the oldest couple of the day award.
