Dr Michael Nwoko, South-South Coordinator for Contact and Mobilization of the City Boy Movement, has joined other national leaders of the movement to celebrate and reward young changemakers driving grassroots innovation and community development across the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The young innovators were recognised during the MyCommunityMyProgress Challenge, an initiative of the City Boy Movement Headquarters aimed at empowering youth-led development and showcasing stories of progress, innovation and transformation within local communities.
Winners of the challenge received ₦250,000 each for demonstrating creativity, passion and commitment in highlighting positive developments and opportunities within their respective communities.
Nwoko joined the Director General of the City Boy Movement, Hon. Oluwatosin Shoga; the Deputy Director General for Coordination, Hon. Favour Abayomi; the FCT Director, Hon. Bitrus Lawrence Garki, and other national directors at the event.
The leaders celebrated the dedication, ingenuity and community spirit displayed by the young participants, stressing the importance of youth engagement and grassroots innovation in driving sustainable development.
The City Boy Movement said the initiative was founded on the belief that meaningful progress begins at the grassroots, where young people can play a critical role in identifying challenges, promoting innovation and driving positive change.
According to the movement, the stories shared by participants reflected resilience, creativity and community-led development, demonstrating the immense potential of young Nigerians when provided with platforms and opportunities to contribute to society.
The movement congratulated all participants in the MyCommunityMyProgress Challenge, describing their passion and commitment as important contributions to the growing story of grassroots development.
“The progress is real, and your stories are shaping the future of our communities,” the organisers said.
The event further highlighted the City Boy Movement’s commitment to empowering young people and encouraging their active participation in community development and national progress.
