Fresh fears of a wider conflict are spreading across the Middle East after Iran’s military accused the United States of escalating regional tensions and warned neighboring countries against supporting Washington’s military operations.

Speaking on Saturday, Ali Abdollahi, head of Iran’s military central command, said the United States was pushing the region closer to a broader confrontation. He warned that any country acting as a defensive shield for the US could face the consequences of war.

The warning came shortly after US President Donald Trump reiterated that Iran could face severe military action. Reports from US media indicate that Washington is considering another round of major strikes, including possible attacks on Iran’s energy infrastructure.
The latest exchange of threats follows renewed overnight military activity between Iran and the United States after several days of reduced fighting.

Although no fresh strikes were reported overnight from Friday into Saturday, tensions remain high as both sides continue to exchange warnings.
The current conflict began on February 28 when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iran.

Tehran responded with missile and drone attacks across the region, raising concerns that the crisis could draw in more countries and threaten global energy supplies and international security. With diplomatic efforts showing little progress, analysts warn that any further escalation could have far-reaching consequences for the Middle East and the global economy.
