MTN Nigeria is marking 25 years of connecting Nigerians with a nostalgic experience that showcases how communication and digital technology have transformed everyday life.
The telecoms giant has launched the Y’ello Street Experience, an immersive exhibition at MTN Plaza on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.
The week-long event, running from August 10 to 17, takes visitors through different stages of Nigeria’s telecommunications journey from basic mobile phones, voice calls and SMS to smartphones, mobile internet, digital banking and social media.
The experience highlights not only MTN’s growth but also the wider impact of connectivity on Nigerian society. Mobile technology has changed how people communicate, run businesses, access information and create new opportunities.
For many visitors, the exhibition has also become a journey through personal memories, recalling a time when owning a mobile phone was considered a major status symbol and a missed call could carry a powerful message.
The Y’ello Street Experience is open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily until August 17 at MTN Plaza, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
