Mulade Launches 2027 Reps Bid, Picks NDC Nomination Form, Promises Effective Representation

Comrade Mulade Sheriff, a renowned peace ambassador, environmental rights activist and development advocate from Delta State, has officially picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Warri Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The declaration, which has already generated reactions across political and socio-cultural circles in Delta State, signals what many supporters describe as a new phase of inclusive leadership, peacebuilding and people-oriented representation for the constituency.

Speaking shortly after obtaining the form, Mulade expressed gratitude to God Almighty and appreciated members and leaders of the party for entrusting him with the opportunity to serve the people of Warri Federal Constituency, comprising the Itsekiri, Ijaw and Urhobo ethnic nationalities.

“I am very happy today that this dream has become a reality. I dedicate this form first to God Almighty and to humanity. This project is not about personal ambition alone, but about service, unity, peace and development for our people,” he stated.

The respected Niger Delta advocate, who also holds the traditional title of Ibe-Sorimowei of the ancient oil-rich Gbaramatu Kingdom, thanked the national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, for providing a platform he described as credible and people-focused.

Mulade noted that his aspiration is driven by a genuine desire to promote peaceful coexistence, inclusive governance and accelerated development across the Warri Federal Constituency, which has over the years remained one of the most politically and economically strategic areas in Delta State.

According to him, the constituency deserves leadership that will rise above ethnic sentiment, political division and sectional interests.

“I am the right man for the job at this moment. I represent peace, unity, development and inclusive representation devoid of ethnic bias, segregation or discrimination.

The people deserve a leader who will unite all groups and ensure that every community has a sense of belonging,” he said.

He further pledged to work closely with traditional rulers, youth leaders, women groups, community stakeholders and political leaders across the constituency in order to strengthen peace and attract sustainable development to the area.

Mulade emphasized that Warri, being the commercial nerve centre of Delta State and a major economic hub in the Niger Delta region, requires visionary leadership capable of engaging government institutions, multinational companies and development partners through constructive dialogue and strategic advocacy.

“I promise to work closely with the revered traditional rulers, stakeholders and political leaders of the constituency to ensure sustainable peace that will attract the desired attention of development to the ancient Warri Kingdom and its environs.

Through inclusive advocacy, constructive engagement and dialogue, we can achieve meaningful progress for our people,” he added.

Political observers believe Mulade’s entrance into the race may reshape the political landscape of the constituency, especially considering his longstanding reputation as a grassroots mobilizer, peace negotiator and advocate for environmental justice and community development in the Niger Delta region.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is expected to conduct the 2027 general elections in February 2027.
