Controversial journalist and social media personality, Kemi Olunloyo, has called for the arrest of the mother of the child in the viral video of a child telling his mother “calm down.”

The mother was heard in the video attempting to punish the child for a particular misbehavior but the child was seen and heard pleading with the mother to calm down and demonstrating how the mother should calm down by sitting on a chair.

The child also knelt down begging the mother and saying this was his last chance of changing and not offending again.

The video had sparked wide reaction from different people across Lagos state. The Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu had used the message of the four year old boy to tell Lagosians to calm down in the face of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the state, the nation and the world.

An NGO was reported to haven the child an ambassadorial nomination to represent their foundation.

But Kemi Olunloyo believes the action of the child’s mother was wrong. She said it was an emotional abuse to attempt punishing her child and posting it on social media.

She was on a live video on Friday morning calling for the arrest of the mother for emotionally and psychologically abusing her four-year-old son and posting same on social media.

She said the woman lied that she cannot tell who posted on the social media.

She said the woman didn’t do well for abusing her child and posting on social media for the whole world to see. She advised not to post their children on social media, saying Nigeria is not safe as there are kidnappers and wicked people everywhere.

Some who replied to her live video said most mothers in Nigeria do that and if this woman should be arrested, then all the women who have been punishing their children should be arrested.

Another woman said she is disappointed in Olunloyo and that the mother didn’t touch the child but that seeing Kemi’s behaviour, she would beat a child at the slightest mistake.

Another woman said she didn’t see anything right in that video and that Kemi is right in her submission.

Another said it is jealousy on the part of Kemi to have called for the arrest of the mother of the child.

Another said the child needs support and not deals

But another  woman told Kemi to her face that she is trying to trend with this four-year-old video.

Olunloyo added that the mother lied for saying she didn’t know how it got to the social media.
