The Head, Association of Urhobo Mayoral Family Crown, AUMFC, Eshanekpe Israel popularly known as Akpodoro has commended the C.E.O. of Tantita Security Services Nig. Ltd., TSSNL High Chief Government Ekpemukpolo popularly known as Tomopolo over the donation of 10bn naira for the Delta State Security Trust Fund on Wednesday.

The commendation by the Mayor was made in a statement issued in Abuja, Thursday, saying Tomopolo’s generous donation was borne out of the need to support the government in the state to combat sundry crimes and criminalities.

He urged that the fund should be judiciously used in a transparent and accountable manner, warning that the security fund shouldn’t be mismanaged.

The Mayor sees Tomopolo’s gesture as rare and unrivalled, noting that the Ijew-born security czar has special interest in the security of lives and properties saying the donation came at the heels of his donation of a transit camp he built and donated to the Nigerian military.

He stressed that Tomopolo’s donation came amidst massive empowerment for youths of the Niger Delta region and support for the elderly.

The 10bn naira donation Akporodoro said its a mileage that would be difficult to beat both in the state and in the country at large.

He commended Tomopolo’s “heart of gold and good conscience aimed at adding his quota to national development.

“For a long time in the region, we had craved a selfless and broadminded leader to lead the emerging region with godly heart and in Tompolo our dream of a visionary leader has just been achieved.”

AKpodoro warned against mismanagement of the fund saying it is a fund entrusted to the government by one man who believes in citizens’ support for his government same zeal he said he has demonstrated over and over again in the security of the oil pipelines surveillance contract awarded him by the he federal government.

“Since Tomoplo was awarded the contract surveillance contract, he has used it to better the lots of the regional youths, ex-militants and perosns. As it is in the region, Tompolo is the highest employer of labour in the region even much more than the state governemnts.

“His employment and empowerment cuts across many states and he has never faltered for once. He pays his workers and sub contractors as at when due and go further to impact lives in the market.

“Across social divides, Tompolo has put smiles in the faces of Nigerians yet, he is not arrogant about it. He is a God sent to our people and a beacon of Niger Delta renaissance.

“He has made life easy for our people and the youths are now less restive as against what they were in the past. As he does his bit, contributing his quota to regional development, the Dr. Dennis Otuaro who is the administrator of the Amnesty Programme, adds his own icing to the cake making crimes and criminalities less attractive to our youths.

“Unlike the opaque administration of allocations in the state intervention agencies, I call on the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, to ensure accountable expenditure of the security trust find.

“This fund shouldn’t be another cashcow for those who relish corruption but men of proven integrity to be entrusted with management of the security fund belonging the Delta State public.”

The Mayor called on leaders in the region to emulate Tomopolo’s show of statemanship and join him to build a formidable Niger Delta region.

In same vein, the Mayor called on the Chairman of the South-South Development Commision, SSDC,
former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche and the Managing Director of the Commission, Usoro Offiong Akpabio, to fast track human and material development in the region noting that, appointments go beyond mere titles but visible efforts to adding values to the growth and development of the region.

He said with the establishment of the SSDC by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration “the floor is opened for healthy competition among the regions in the country. We are not cut out for blame game again but visible human and material development.”
