Ned Nwoko meets Delta North youths, raises hope for youths to be self-reliant

The Delta North People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate, Prince Ned Nwoko, has hosted youths from all local government areas in Delta North, at Mount Ned, Idumuje Ugboko, Delta state, on Saturday, 7 January, 2023.

The meeting was designed for the leading senatorial candidate to share ideas with the youths, whilst unfolding his personal plans for the youths of Anioma, as he prepares to represent them in the red chambers.

While fielding questions, Nwoko promised to build an economy that will enable hardworking Nigerian youths to achieve their dreams of owning their own cars, houses, businesses, and be generally self-reliant.

He said, “I believe in action. Like I have always said in the various local government areas visited during campaign rallies, I will work towards achieving an environment that is conducive for the youths to excel in their chosen vocations.

“Nigerian youths are very hard working and very creative, but the dilapidated system of governance in the country has continued to dwindle their efforts. No conscious effort has been made by both former and present administrations to pull Nigerian youths from the threshold of abject poverty. Hence, I have taken it upon myself to push a bill that will benefit not just Anioma youths, but all Nigerian youths at large, irrespective of tribe and religion, once I get to the senate.

“Most of you are already familiar with the N50million grant bill. I don’t want you to think that this is just one of the empty campaign promises. I want you to trust me. If you really know me, then you will know that I do not make empty promises.

“This is a bill that would pull millions of Nigerian youths out of abject poverty. Once you meet with the requirements, which is, having a registered business and business account, that has been existing for a minimum of two years, and also be able to employ additional five youths, then you’re qualified to receive the grant, which would be issued in three batches. An Agency would be established by the government to monitor the progress of the beneficiaries.”

Nwoko, however, reminded the youths that he cannot achieve all of that alone. He stated that, for the bill to be passed into law, he needs Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, and his running mate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, to occupy the presidential position.

Also, responding to a question, Nwoko reiterated his promise of tackling the issue of bad roads and poorly constructed waterways, peculiar to the people of Okoh community, in Oshimili South LGA, Abboh axis, in Ndokwa East LGA, and other various communities, which have led to reoccurring flood disasters in such communities.

The leading Delta North senatorial candidate, promised to have such interactive youth assembly annually, not just to share his ideas with the youths, but to also hear what the youths really want for themselves, once he emerges as the senator representing Delta North senatorial district.
